BSC looks forward to welcoming the Fireball Open Meeting, GP14 Southern Area Championship and RS200 National Tour 2021 on the weekend of 22 and 23 May.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page to download the NOR, SIs and Course Card documents

The entry arrangements for each fleet are as follows:

RS200 - Entries for the RS200 fleet should be made via the Class Association.
GP14 - Entries for the GP14 fleet should be made via the Class Association.
Fireball - Online entry for the Fireball class is now open - use the form below to start the booking process.

The registration desk will be open from 9am on Saturday 22 and we look forward to welcoming you to the club.

Please be aware that while you will receive the traditional warm welcome at Brightlingsea this year and we are very much looking forward to hosting you, the Covid-19 restrictions will mean that things will be somewhat different.

Spacing arrangements for boat parking will be advised to you on arrival and we would ask you to work with our team to help maintain good social distancing, particularly in the area at the top of the launching ramp where the public promenade passes between the ramp and the boat park.

Subject to the anticipated rule changes due to come into force on 17 May going ahead, our bar will be open but only for waitress table service to groups of 6 people or 2 households. Our Beachbox Cafe takeaway, located at the top of the launching ramp, will be providing delicious hot and cold drinks and snacks and light meals throughout the day and after racing. Any food purchased at the Beachbox Cafe can be brought into the bar if you wish to take a table so that you can enjoy a drink with it. We hope that the weather will be lovely and warm during your visit, but we recommend you bring plenty of warm clothes as we will be outside a lot more than usual.

Sadly we are not able to provide our traditional sit down club dinner in the evening, but Brightlingsea has lots of excellent pubs, restaurants and takeaways that serve great and often local food. A list of those that will be open that weekend is being prepared and will be available on the club website a little nearer the event so that you can book tables in advance.

Although we will be providing prizes for the event, sadly the restrictions prevent us from having a prize giving. Prizes for the top three boats will be brought to the winning boats in the boat park if at all possible or will be distributed to you via your class secretaries if you need to leave before we can get them to you.

Our toilets and changing rooms will be open, but numbers using them at any one time will be restricted and it may not be possible for us to provide showers (the current restrictions mean we cannot provide showers and we are awaiting confirmation on what the rules will be after 17 May). We would encourage anyone who can to arrive ready to go afloat and to go home/to your accommodation to change after racing to help ease pressure on the facilities. For those using the changing rooms please don't leave unattended bags in there at any time. If you don't have a car to lock them in please speak to one of our Duty Officers who will be able to provide a secure place to leave them.

There is a list of available local accommodation on the club website and we recommend booking early as the current inability to travel abroad means UK accommodation is getting heavily booked up. The Lakeside Campsite immediately next to the boat park has just undergone a major redevelopment over the winter and is now taking bookings for both tents and caravans/campers. Their website is yet to be updated but you can call Debbie on 01206 303421 to book a pitch - please tell them you are booking for an event at Brightlingsea Sailing Club and they will do all they can to make sure they have a space for you.

Extra cleaning and Covid-19 precautions are in place at the club for your safety and we would ask that you follow the requests and directions of our Duty Officers if they ask for your assistance to manage social distancing, hygiene, etc, while you are with us.

If you have any questions or queries please contact our Vice Commodore Sailing Alec Mumford on vcsailing@sailbrightlingsea.com
